PERMANENT MAKEUP
What is Permanent Makeup?
Have you ever wished a flawless face of makeup could remain intact, so that when you wake up you can just roll out of bed ready to go? Thanks to permanent makeup, that wish could become a reality. Permanent makeup is the micro-implantation of coloring pigments into the skin for aesthetic purposes to enhance, contour, and outline facial features. It is also a valuable procedure for camouflaging scars, burns, skin pigmentation variances caused by vitiligo, correcting some facial irregularities, or to further enhance facial rejuvenation and post-operative treatments.
How Is Permanent Makeup Different Than Being Tattooed?
“Permanent makeup has come a long way since your grandma tattooed her brows on,” says Zeiva Nasser, founder of a Zeiva Professional Center. “Nowadays, the technique and artistry has truly evolved to provide people with the most natural enhancements that will make your friends wonder what you’ve done to look so fresh and polished.”
Chances are, you’ve already heard of microblading. Thanks to an exponentially exploding interest in brows over the past few years, the eyebrow-tattooing technique has gone mainstream. But brows are just the beginning. You can also get just-bitten pink lips, sharp-lined eyes, or even faux freckles.
HOW PERMANENT MAKEUP FAQs
How Does Permanent Makeup Work?
Permanent makeup is considered micropigmentation, similar to tattoos. It involves using a needle to place pigmented granules beneath the upper layers of the skin. Tattooing and medical restoration, which correct imperfections from scars and vitiligo (lack of natural pigmentation in the skin), are similar procedures.
Permanent makeup for eyeliner is the most popular cosmetic enhancement, followed by eyebrows and lip color.
How Are Microblading & Micropigmentation Different?

Is There Any Discomfort Associated With The Procedure?
Unlike in tattooing or some other type of permanent makeup salons we use topical anesthetics that are highly effective to be applied to the treated area which significantly reduces discomfort. Typically, patients will report a tickling sensation with little or no discomfort during or after a procedure has been performed.
Please be aware when booking a lip procedure, if you have ever had an outbreak of fever blisters at any point, you must consult with your doctor for a prescription of Valtrex or similar product prior to your procedure.
How Is Zeiva Professional Center Different From Other Permanent Makeup Specialists?
We specialize in giving clients a truly natural look. Our clients’ safety and satisfaction are our top priorities. We only use the safest and superior pigments as coloring agents. Our pigments meet standards set by the European Regulatory Agencies, whose guidelines are far stricter than those of the US FDA, which currently does not regulate tattoo pigments. Our micro-pigmentation instruments are patented, specifically designed for safe and effective permanent makeup application. We use fine brushes to artfully create the look our clients seek. For instance, eyebrows are recreated with fine lines simulating feathered hair and contoured into a natural-looking arch.
Above all, our technicians are committed to providing the best service, care, and desired results to every client. Our expertise and care have earned an outstanding reputation, with thousands of satisfied clients and recommendations from physicians. Many of the area’s leading plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists, and other doctors, as well as beauty and healthcare professionals, refer their patients to us.

How Long Does The Procedure Take To Complete?
The average time required for a procedure is between one to two hours depending on the areas being treated.
What Kind Of Healing Time Is Involved? Is Any Care Required After The Procedure?
Some swelling and redness can be expected for up to 24 hours following a procedure. Cold compress helps to reduce any swelling around the eye area. The treated area must be kept clean. No makeup should be applied for several days. Some skin peeling and lightening of the applied color is normal. If any additional adjustments are desired, these will be made during your follow-up appointment. Regular routines usually can be resumed immediately after the procedure. However, tanning or swimming should be avoided for a few days. Normal healing times is between four to seven days.
How Is The Specific Desired Look And Shades Of Coloring Determined?
Our artist will conducts an extensive consultation regarding both the exact contouring and coloring desired. We will recommend the specific treatment and shades to best complement your own skin tones, hair color, wardrobe, and lifestyle. Additionally, we will demonstrate expected results by applying penciled makeup on you before implanting the color into the skin.
How Long Does Permanent Makeup Last?
Gradual fading can be expected for all micro-pigmentation procedures. This varies among people and is dependent on the specific shade used, personal care routine and sun exposure. Most colors last three to five years, although some may not fade for as long as 10 years. Periodic touchups are recommended to maintain the desired look. You can also choose to change colors of your permanent makeup. For instance, a nude lip color can be modified to a peachy pink or a brown eyeliner to a black or navy hue.
How Long Should I Wait Before I Can Have Permanent Makeup Applied After Botox, Injectables, Chemical Peels Or Laser Treatments?
Generally speaking, we recommend to wait at least one week before we apply any permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, or lip liner/color. It may be necessary to wait a few more weeks after laser resurfacing or chemical peel.
Can I Have Restylane Or Juvederm Injected Around My Mouth After A Permanent Lip Liner Procedure? Will It Change The Look Of My Lips?
Restylane or Juvederm can be used to further enhance the fullness of your lips and to diminish the appearance of lines around the mouth. The lip liner will not “run” or feather into the vertical lines around the lips.
